Pasta Sugos

Pasta Sugos (sauce in Italian) is a locally owned and operated company in Raleigh, NC that produces homemade sauces, the first of which are a pizza and an Italian marinara sauce made from San Marzano tomatoes and fresh locally sourced all-natural ingredients.


My family roots start in Italy, specifically, Calabria in Southern Italy.  In the early 1900s my Great Grandparents emigrated to The United States through Ellis Island and settled in Upstate New York.  My Great Grandmother’s recipes were handed down through the generations.  Growing up in an Italian family meant that a good deal of your life revolved around food and there was no shortage of great sauce recipes.  The memory of Grandma picking fresh tomatoes from the garden to make her best marinara sauce and the aroma in the house of fresh, garlic, onions, basil, and tomatoes was mouthwatering. 


We continued our Italian food traditions and retained the closely guarded family recipes.   We often heard how uncommonly delicious our sauces were, followed by the question, “how do you make this?”  Never giving up the recipe, we would simply say, “someday we will bottle the recipes and then everyone can enjoy”!
That day has finally come with Pasta Sugos successfully bottling a marinara and a pizza sauce in 2020!


Our Marinara and pizza sauce use San-Marzano tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, Utica-grind crushed red pepper, chopped onions and garlic, whole basil leaves, ground black pepper, kosher salt, imported balsamic vinegar and a pinch of raw sugar.  Our sauces are gluten free, all-natural, and rich in robust flavors!

Our homemade Italian style sauce recipes were brought from Italy and handed down through generations.  Nana Gaetano never used anything but natural locally sourced vegetables and herbs……. and neither will we!
